There are many things to experience in Bukit Lawang and Gotong Royong. We want to show you the daily life of the people living in the small villages. Let us know if you have seen anything you would like to explore and we will do our best to accommodate you.
Village tour

Make a tour around the village on a bicycle or with the tuk-tuk. You will learn how they make brown sugar and temper, visit the rice fields and some volunteering initiatives to improve the quality of life in the village. Lunch is included.
Amorphophallus titanum / Rafflesia flower

If the time is right, you can go to see the beautiful and very special Amorphophallus titanum or Rafflesia flower. It’s a short trek into the jungle with an amazing award when you arrive at the flower.
Bat Cave

Located 2 km from the village Bukit Lawang in the Gunung Leuser National Park, you can explore a bat cave, the home to thousands of fruit bats.
Batik printing
750.000 IDR
Together with the local women of the village, you will go through the process of dyeing flowers using eco-friendly materials. You can use these beautiful canvases to make scarfs, bed sheets, or clothes.
Cooking class
500.000 IDR
You will learn how to cook some traditional Indonesian meals. We will take you to the local market to get the ingredients and explain every step in the process. Let us know if you are vegetarian or vegan, or if you want to learn a certain dish.
